Youth Leaders--- you have so many options--- why choose NWMC?

1.       ONE week includes ALL age groups – specially designed programs for each age group (junior high, high school, young adult, adult and children) all in ONE place, at ONE time.

2.       NWMC recruits and trains counselors for the 12 to 24 year olds, so you don’t need to find extra leadership.  Bring a group or send an individual.

3.       In 2010, nearly 1000 attendees came from 33 states and 36 countries. NWMC is well known as a place to make good, long-lasting friendships.  It is a welcoming place to come back to again and again.

4.       Cost is low. A Super Saver Plan for youth groups of 10 or more and dining hall jobs are available for high school and young adults.

5.       Youth are exposed to mission opportunities near and far.  There is an emphasis on how to be involved in mission right now.  Programming blends both learning about mission (simulation experiences, speakers, and interaction with mission workers from around the world) and engaging in mission (service-project opportunities on and off campus).

6.       The conference is intergenerational so all ages gather in the lakeside amphitheater for an hour in the morning and in the evening to sing, laugh, listen, and learn from incredible speakers such as Roger Nishioka, Tony Campolo, Steve Saint and Ken Bailey.  At other times, programs, activities, devotions and housing are designed for specific age groups.

 7.       There is something for everyone during free time.  Each day, youth and adults can sweat on the ball fields (soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, Frisbee), swim in the pool, tie die a t-shirt, attend a workshop, or practice with the choir. At night, youth are able to share their talents in the talent show, laugh at the singing bee or just hang out with some great new friends.

8.       Leaders may bring the whole family along.  Programming and child care is planned for every age.

9.       NWMC  offers a great way to connect your youth with what God is doing in the world and how they can be a part of it.

10.   Each evening meeting (Conference has been going on for 105 years) closes with everyone singing the song “Surely the Presence of the Lord Is in This Place” and we believe it.

NWMC combines the fun and outdoors of summer camp, the education and networking of a conference, and the opportunity to get involved in service as in a mission trip, into ONE GREAT WEEK that will surely make a difference in your ministry.

If you would like to speak with a youth leader or pastor who has experienced NWMC, please contact the office and we will arrange it for you.  Listen to podcasts of past speakers and see photos of past Conferences, or download the Power Point to show to your group.  We would love to have you come and bring your group or send individuals.

Helpful Info For Youth Leaders Who Plan To Attend NWMC With Their Youth:

  • Youth leaders will not stay in the same building as their youth unless they are on junior high or high school staff.

  • Youth Groups will not be kept together as a large group in the dorms, however, roommate requests between people in the same youth group will be honored.

  • Youth Leaders will not participate in the small group discussions with their youth, however they are more than welcomed (and even encouraged) to attend all of the large group events (Morning Show, Big Show (evening) and Mission Simulations.  In some cases, youth leaders may be able to help facilitate some of the mission simulations.

  • There is time for youth leaders to meet as a group for mutual encouragement and prayer during some of the small group time.  Youth leaders may also use that time to attend adult activities or for personal reflection/prayer/rest.

  •  This is a unique event that allows youth leaders plenty of time to be engaged with their youth but also ample amounts of time for individual and personal growth.

Super Saver Plan:  Youth groups of 10 or more registering together receive a $15 discount per person AND the leader may come free.
